Lovere, excellence among the villages of Italy

Recognized among The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, Lovere is one of the most popular destinations on Lake Iseo, thanks to its strategic location, the quality of its historic center and its natural surroundings. Already in the eighteenth century, the English writer Lady Mary Wortley Montagu emphasized its unique charm, calling it one of the most evocative places ever visited, in fact Lovere knows how to enchant with its simplicity, it is a logo that lingers in the heart, wherever you go then return, even if it was for a moment….

An extension between lake and mountains with an amphitheater-like structure, characterized by historic buildings, orderly urban spaces, and striking panoramic views.

What to visit in Lovere

The main places of interest can be easily reached from the historic center:

  • Tadini Academy of Fine Arts – a landmark 19th-century museum in Lombardy, with works by Antonio Canova and a prominent art collection.

  • Basilica of St. Mary in Valvendra

Built beginning in 1473 and consecrated in 1520, the basilica presents a sober and essential exterior aesthetic, which contrasts with a spacious and richly decorated interior. The building has three naves, punctuated by twelve columns, and is considered one of the most significant examples of Lombard Renaissance classicism, enriched by slight Venetian influences.

Numerous valuable works are preserved inside, including the organ doors painted by Alessandro Bonvicino, known as Moretto, depicting Saints Faustino and Giovita on horseback. Also of particular value are the 16th-century wooden choir and the high altar, embellished with sculptures and polychrome marble made by the Fantoni workshop in Rovetta.

  • Shrine of Saints Bartolomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa – place of religious and historical interest, frequented by visitors from all over northern Italy.

  • Historic center of Lovere e Civic Tower of Lovere – Urban itinerary with panoramic views of the lake.

  • Municipal Museum of Natural Sciences – Exhibitions dedicated to fauna, minerals and naturalistic artifacts.

Luer Prince Lovere is not simply a vacation home, but a home designed for vacation living. It is a space where the sense of home remains present even while you are away from your daily routine.
Vacations have value because they allow one to go out, explore, change perspective, and then return more enriched. In this balance of going and returning, home and vacation are not opposites, but two experiences that meet.
In this view, the stay becomes a time of conscious transition, where what is stable and what is temporary coexist, invoking a natural sense of impermanence, where things are distinct but not separate.
